M&A Transitions / Integration

DBS Project Solutions were engaged by two seperate Insurance clients to engage on busienss integration programmes

Each of the Global Insurers had a signifcant number of businesses purchased, but never integrated with the parent organisation.

Client 1

Delivery of several key, complex integration projects across Europe. Project based in Germany / Europe managing eight offices across seven European countries, focusing on aligning these offices with the clients standard delivery patterns and ensuring full network, infrastructure and application integration.

Also completed the integrsation of a UK based organisation with multiple offices and sub clients. involving detailed audits and phased delivery to ensure smooth integration into the clients Azure data center, supported by Citrix and M365.  The delivery included the resolution of multiple business related issues, not just technical aspects.

We also integrated a large UK based Client Contact Centre into the parent organisation while transitioning from a legacy telephony solution to a new integrated specialits Contact Centre solution.

Client 2

We also managed the integration of three Swedish insurance businesses for a seperate Insurance client emphasizing infrastructure, applications, and security.

The clients standard integration framework for network integration and application migration, ensuring all security standards and project gateways were met.

In addition we led the recovery of a failing integration project for a Turkish insurance business, navigating local legal and data privacy challenges (KVKK) and adapting the clients integration standards to comply with Turkish regulations.

This role involved close collaboration with on and offshore legal and DPO teams, managing stakeholder communications, and coordinating with marketing and web teams to ensure a seamless go-live plan.

Azure Data Center migration

At the client's organization, we undertook a comprehensive data center transformation programme, migrating from an on-premises data center to a hybrid cloud solution managed within Microsoft Azure.

This project involved the migration and transformation of key applications to a vendor-managed service, utilizing SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments within an 18-month period. Key workstreams included SharePoint Online, Line of Business applications migration such as CAT RMS and AIR, and the deployment of Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) and Citrix Managed Desktops.

We meticulously designed, developed, and deployed MS WVD to replace the existing Citrix environment, ensuring thorough testing and user acceptance support. Our team also standardized and migrated supporting applications, integrating resilience and BCDR strategies to balance recovery costs and application availability.

Additionally, we migrated data from physical environments to the cloud, including a significant SharePoint 2016 to SharePoint Online migration involving over 50 teams and 7TB of data. Throughout the project, we standardized monitoring tools, deployed ScienceLogic and Dynatrace, and successfully decommissioned the physical data center, enhancing global network resilience with a new SD-WAN-based Meraki network.

IT Service Transition

DBS Project Solutions were engaged by a large Global Insurer to transition IT services from a single provider to a tower based SIAM model

A large Global Insurer and re insurer engaged DBS to provide consultancy servers to transition from an existing under perfoming supplier to new suppliers in a SIAM model.

This required two key strands for delivery, the IT Services and infrastructure transition and the creation of a SIAM Retained Organisation to empower the client IT team

The IT Services and infrastructure in scope was identified via a RACI model.  As the existing supplier would retain some of the key infrastructure, the RACI was used to identify future responsibilities for the inbound suppliers.  The project successfully transitiuoned all in scope services successfully within a six month timescale.

The RACI maxtix also identified services that would move from the existing suppliers or which did not currently exist.

A new Target Operating Model was created to enable the creation of IT Retained Organisation, the development of which was lead by DBS as part of the client engagement

Infrastructure Transformation

A Global Financial Hedge Fund requested that DBS Projects deliver a total Service Transformation project over a one year period

A large Hedge Fund, based in London with officies across Europe and the US requested DBS Consultants manage the delivery of a project designed to eliminate the "Technical Debt" that had accrued across the organisations infrastructure.

DBS Consultants worked with the organisations to remedeiate the network, migrate core infrastructure from an "On-Prem" to a "Cloud" based environment and finally, deliver a European wide W7 to W10 upgrade while provisioning new devices.

The network refresh was delivered via combination of Cisco Meraki devices while utilising Colt to consolidate disparate network services to a single provider.  This provided increased manageability, reduced costs and increased network capacity.

European "On-Prem" applications and facilities were reviewed and aligned to migration tiers. These were then migrated to Microsoft Azure, following a standard build, test, deploy methodology.

The W10 upgrade successfully  provided a CIS aligned W10 build and replaced over 1500 desktop devices across 9 European locations

Agile Workplace delivery

A large European Bank, headquartered in London, engaged DBS to deliver a their "Office of the Future" vision.

As part of an office refurbishment, designed to set a template for future office upgrades, DBS managed the delivery of an Agile workspace as part of a new Target Operating Model.

This required very tight timescales to be met, DBS drove the project forward while delivering core improvements to technology and usability.

Stakeholder management was key, particulary around the deployment of a Cloud based tooling across multiple teams using Amazon Web Services as the deployment platform.

Office facilites deployed included new AV and VC facilities, integrating with the desktop devices.
